The Trans-Québec-Labrador is a road that leads all the way to Labrador and Quebec’s “True North”. Imagine a stretch of road more than 1,300 km long between Baie-Comeau and Goose Bay, connecting the St. Lawrence River to the Labrador Sea.
You will pass by several Hydro-Québec power dams-including the famous Daniel-Johnson Dam, or Manic-5, a symbol of Quebecois initiative and genius. Its reservoir forms a perfect circle to the north around René-Levasseur Island. Nicknamed the Eye of Quebec, the Manicouagan crater is recognized as one of the most spectacular in the world.

Right next to it, the Groulx/Uapishka Mountains are a paradise for outdoor adventurers. Québec’s highest peaks present breathtaking panoramas and diverse plant life that ranges from boreal forest to arctic tundra. Located just above the 51st parallel on the Trans-Québec-Labrador 340 km from Baie-Comeau, the Groulx/Uapishka Mountains are an ecotourism’s delight. They’re among the most impressive land masses in Québec, with thirty-odd summits topping 1,000 m and over 5,000 km2 of alpine plateaus (so untamed you'll check your map and compass often). It all makes Northern Québec a singular place for independence and discovery.
