the jardin des glaciers of baie-Comeau
UNIQUE IN THE WORLD! ONLY IN BAIE-COMEAU
Enter the heart of a World Biosphere Reserve on the banks of the St. Lawrence River to learn about the ice age and the peoples who shaped our land and history over the past 20,000 years.
MULTIMEDIA ZONE

Attend a world-class multimedia show at the Glacier Exploration Station. Travel back in time to experience 20,000 years of history and understand how the glaciers affected our distant ancestors and changed the landscape. (Plan two hours to take in all the sights and sounds at the Glacier Exploration Station.)
NATURE ZONE
Surrounded by nature, follow our guides as you discover how the landscape was shaped in the postglacial period. Three guided treks are offered:
The Seashell Valley

In the midst of the boreal forest, explore a place that is
unique in the world: a seashell deposit that is 5 to 15 meters high, 10,000 years old, and 90% shellfish.
Peoples of the Ice Age

Travel along a route that lets you relive the experience
of our prehistoric ancestors and discover what their dwellings were like.
Traces of the Glaciers

We take you on a small motorboat to explore
the St. Lawrence River’s banks, where the passage of glaciers sculpted giant grooves.
(Each guided trek takes around three hours.) |
