Le Chapitou Animal Shelter

Le Chapitou shelter provides accommodation and care for homeless animals. It also runs a steadily expanding public adoption center that is a priority as the number of adopted cats and dogs increases over the years.

The shelter’s response area covers the municipalities of the Manicouagan peninsula, including Pessamit. It seeks to promote public safety while protecting animals and ensuring their survival.

To this end, the shelter provides an emergency service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to emergency situations such as the presence of unwanted animals (such as porcupines) in the home or yard. It also offers euthanasia services to end the suffering of elderly companion animals.
