Boisé de la Pointe-Saint-Gilles
Boisé de la Pointe-Saint-Gilles is located at the confluence of the Manicouagan and St. Lawrence rivers. This beautiful wooded urban park offers a number of trails winding through boreal vegetation, right in the heart of town. The remarkable 175 hectare green space borders the mighty St. Lawrence and boasts an urban, wooded, marine, and lacustrine environment—all within one square kilometer. In fact, it is one of the few towns where these environments exist in such close proximity. Year round, visitors can explore 18 kilometers of maintained trails with stunning views of the St. Lawrence.
Rest areas, sculptures, Fables de La Fontaine, personalized trails, and birdwatching (common goldeneye, Barrow’s goldeneye, great blue heron) are just some of the attractions. Hikers will also enjoy watching the activity at the harbor seal haulout. Les Amis du Boisé de la Pointe Saint-Gilles organizes various activities throughout the year.
